26 Apr How to Effectively Clean and Prevent Mould in Your Bathroom
Open a window or use a fan to help remove excess humidity and moisture in the air that can contribute to mould growth.
- Clean the mouldy surface with a sponge, cloth or brush and a solution of warm water and mild dishwashing detergent.
- Rinse the surface with clean water and completely dry the surface afterwards.
- Treat the source of the moisture or humidity. Repair any water leaks, increase ventilation and make sure that the bathroom is properly insulated so that condensation does not occur.
- Use a mildew-resistant paint to paint over the affected area after cleaning.
- If you have any, you can use an anti-mould/mildew spray as a preventive measure to help prevent the mould from coming back
Make sure to wear gloves when cleaning and open the windows to let in fresh air. After cleaning, completely dry to area to prevent mould from growing back.
